The community is welcome to run the open 2 mile race held at 6:30pm at Bear Branch Fields on Friday, August 30th. Cost is $5 to benefit TWHS Lady Highlander XC Team! Also, we will have fabulous new t-shirts (new design is on the attached postcard) for sale and concessions to benefit the team. Run the race and then stay to watch The Woodlands High School Invitational XC meet immediately following the open race.
We are also seeking volunteers to help at the meet. Marty Downey is already lined up to head up the chute again. Serving as course monitors is another fun way to volunteer and watch the race, too.

Volunteer for Ironman Texas - Run Course Aid Station - Saturday May 18, 2013 (4 hour Shifts from 10:30 AM until Midnight)
Post Race message from Kathleen
I want to thank all the members who volunteered at our aid station and in any other capacity during Saturday's Ironman. We hear it over and over again how an event like this can't happen without volunteers, but it is so true. It's great that we could be a part of it. Special thanks goes out to Randy Bradley for once again organizing and directing Run Station #6. And of course, congratulations to everyone who participated in the event.
Registration is open. The Woodlands Marathon is offering a Tax Day discount code on early registration fee. Make sure you register before midnight Moday on April 15th and save $5.

Running notebook: Psych up before training and race day
By Roberta MacInnis | February 27, 2013 | Updated: February 27, 2013 6:51pm
Train hard, race fast. It seems like a simple equation.
But runners who do the physical work without exercising their mental skills may not be performing as well as they could.
This holds true not only for serious competitors but for recreational runners, who are increasingly incorporating sports psychology into their training routines.
