Just a bit of TWRC news.

TWRC tent at Town Green for the Woodlands Marathon on 3/3
Running or spectating the Woodland Marathon next weekend? The TWRC tent will be sent up in the usual place on Town Green. You can use it for bag drop or a meeting point before or after the race. Hope to see you there. Good luck to all the runners!

TWRC post Woodlands Social on Saturday 3/3 5-7 PM at The Goose's Acre

TWRC officer elections. Good social and election on Sunday 4/9. The new TWRC officers are:

President - Andreas Grossmann
Vice President - Russell Meyer
Secretary - Kristin Collins
Treasurer - Stephen Clouthier
Registrar - Layton Gill

The club raffled off some TWRC hats and memberships for next year. Jarred McFadden won a hat, Debbie Tripp won a TWRC membership and Pam Meaux won a TWRC membership. Congrats!

Luke's offers a free, weekly run starting at Luke’s Locker at 6:15 PM. Luke's has revamped their Thursday run. If you have not tried it recently, it might be worth another look.

TWRC officer elections. That time of year again. Let’s meet at Churrascos on Sunday April 9th 4-6 pm for appetizers & elections. Andreas Grossman is running for president, Russell Meyer for vice president, Kristin Collins for secretary, Stephen Clouthier for Treasurer. The Registrar position is open if anyone is interested in running. Please keep your eyes open for an evite and more details. NOTE: Churrascos will validate Parking at Marriott Garage for 3 hours; if it’s longer there will be an additional parking charge.

TWRC update 3-10-17

* Congrats to all that ran the Woodlands Marahton, Half Marathon, Relay & 5K last weekend. In case you have not heard, Boston is not going to allow the marathoners that would have qualified in the Woodlands to use their time for Boston. Sad. I am working on some club race results, more to come.

* The next social will be after the Woodlands Marathon at the Goose’s Acre from 4-6 pm. Please come whether you have run Woodlands or not. The evite has been sent, if you have not done so already, please RSVP ASAP.

The Houston running session is in full swing. Congrats to all that ran the Run thru the Woods Thanksgiving Day run as well as those who suffered thru a warm and humid Houston Marathon and Half Marathon.

* TWRC Membership status. About 320 members as of the end of January. About 360 juniors have signed up to take part in the juniors program.

Time for a TWRC update.

It has been a hot summer is The Woodlands. Hope everyone has cut back on their mileage and is drinking a lot of water during their runs. By the time fall arrives you will be faster than those who stopped running this summer.

National Run Day is June 1st:
The Woodlands Marathon Management is putting on two community runs on Wednesday June 1st. A 6 am morning run and a 5:45 pm evening run. Both start at Hughes Landing. Congrats to all that ran Muddy Trails on April 2nd. Great weather for an afternoon 5K, 10K, kids and even doggy run. Several members ran well and ended up on the podium.

Congrats to all that ran Marathon weekend. The Juniors program finished strong March 4th with a record turnout for 2K on Friday. BIG thanks for Suz White for leading this program. I have compiled the club member results for the marathon, half marathon and 5K, please login to the TWRC to view. A few pre and post marathon photos are on the TWRC website as well.
