2013 Race Sponsors. Thanks!
TITLE: Sugar Land Finish Line Sports, Hwy 59 South at Sugar Creek Blvd exit. GOLD: Dew Point Control. BRONZE: Baby Bull Cafe Coffee. Email Andy at email@example.com if your company in interested in a 30K sponsorship. Thanks!
TIME LIMIT of four hours and 15 minutes for the 30K. This is a pace of 13:45 per mile. (Marathon pace for a 6:00 finish.) Runners and walkers are both welcome. Please walk on the sidewalks if past an 10:45am finish pace for your safety. SLPD will be in place from 6:00am-10:45am only.
NO headphones/Ipods at this race. Please leave them at home. Safety.
This is a triple-loop course along beautiful Palm Royale Blvd in the Sweetwater neighborhood. 1,300 entrants, including several blind athletes with tethered guides, share one single running lane, with the adjoining lane open to neighborhood vehicular traffic in the same direction. Faster runners must pass others on the outside of this single lane. As a result, headphones/Ipods are a SERIOUS safety hazzard. Everyone please leave all headphones/Ipods at home. Wearing headphones/Ipods at the 30K endangers both yourself and others. Thank you in advance for complying!
NOTE: ALL runners MUST be registered...visible 30K number on front
Legally, ALL runners MUST be officially registered with a VISIBLE FLS 30K race number on front. Finish Line Sports has a City Parade Permit for the designated First Colony streets and runners lane for Sunday, Dec 15, 2013, from 6:30am until 10:45am and any "bandits" will face a stiff fine. Anyone NOT registered who runs on the course during the race may face a "theft of services" charge and a fine of $500. Please point out any bandits to one of our 40+ uniformed SLPD officers on the course. (This is a rare problem, but an afront to our FIFTEEN race causes AND other paying runners.) Sorry, Pacing another without a number is NOT permitted. Thank you for officially registering and for supporting the 30K.
Medical coverage...EMT's and HARRA volunteers
EMT personnel are working the race on the course and at the finish line to insure your medical safety. (Sag trucks and cars are also available on the course.) On bikes, eleven members of the HARRA CPR/AED team monitor the runners on the course. We are grateful to each for their dedication. Protecting 1,400 runners is a lot of responsibility.
30K Finisher's Medals to all finishers in the race. Distributed by Girl Scouts at the finish line on Plaza Drive upon completion. Congrats!!
Spectators, come on out!
Great for spectating!!! The best place for cheering is 1) the Palm Royale Blvd triple-loop at Sweetwater Blvd, and 2)at the finish line next to Amegy Bank-Town Square. Finish Line Sports, Fort Bend Fit, HARRA, Houston Masters, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cenikor, Bel Inizio, Snowdrop Foundation, Rainbow Room, and Bolivian Consulate help make this race great.
