TWRC has a 2020-2021 Juniors Program

It is with deep gratitude that TWRC thanks Julia and Gabriel Belforti for leading our Juniors Running Program for four years. It is equally a pleasure to inform you that Julie Verville has taken the baton. With the unanimous enthusiasm of Julie and the Board we want to provide our youngsters with multiple opportunities each week to be outside.

Julie’s announcement:

Thank you for your interest and support of The Woodlands Running Club - Juniors! We are excited for the upcoming season and can’t wait to see your kiddos moving!!

With the current COVID climate, our plans and guidelines will be somewhat fluid as we navigate the 2020-2021 running season. We will be relying upon guidance from the Governor’s Office as well as State and local officials, and will look to follow some (or all) of the suggestions provided by CISD. Please join our Facebook page and check back often for the most up-to-date information. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncertain times.

To keep updated like us in Facebook:

We are currently targeting a kick-off date of September 12, 2020, with location and time to be determined. While we aim to hold a traditional in-person kick-off event, this season may look a little different and we may begin with a virtual event.

To get started: log into TWRC, renew your family membership, and go to
to register your children. Bear with us as the Juniors web pages are updated as efficiently as possible.

Also, please think about neighbors and local friends whose youngsters could benefit from our program.

This is a non-competitive program, and our goal is for every runner to accumulate at least 26.2 miles during our season. At its conclusion in February 2021, we will have an awards ceremony to recognize those runners who achieved the 26.2 miles milestone, as well as all Centurion Club members.

Club Change **Centurion Club**
Any runner who achieves 100 miles+ during the running season will become a member of the Centurion Club, earning special recognition at our end-of-the-season awards ceremony. We will not log miles above the 100 mark, but DO encourage runners to continue running and logging miles to achieve their own personal goals.

Organized Group Runs
We plan to offer several opportunities to run as a club throughout the week: locations and times TBD as we await approvals from CISD campuses.

**While we remain at Level 3 status due to COVID-19, we will have weekly sign-ups for these in-person runs to limit attendance per state guidelines. More details to follow.

Virtual Running
We will also offer a virtual running option for this season. Should your family not feel comfortable running in groups at this point, or at any point during the season, we encourage you to log miles virtually. More details to follow.

Typically, the last race of our season is The Woodlands Marathon 2K Fun Run. For runners who have logged 25 miles before this race and who successfully complete the 2K Fun Run, 2 medals are awarded: the race medal and the 26.2 marathon medal for completion of our program.

**Since the status of races throughout the remainder of 2020 and into 2021 remains uncertain, we may need to alter our end-of-year race and awards ceremony. Please stay tuned.

This club is organized 100% by volunteers. If you are interested in helping us this season, please contact me at
