2011 Fall "Destination" Marathons trips

The trips were GREAT. Check out the websites for pictures and more info!

NEXT UP... There is talk of running the Marine Corp Marathon in 2012. Registration opens on March 7, 2012. The event will be October 28th. In 2011 it sold out in 28 hours.

Several TWRC members and friends are planning 2011 fall "destination" Marathons. These trips are not club sponsored and you do not have to be a member to go. In the past, several of us have taken trips to run 26.2 miles to places like Boston, Sedona, New York and Chicago. This year at least two trips are planned - Berlin Marathon and San Francisco Nike Women's Marathon.

We have planning websites setup in case you want to go or are just interested in more information for next time.

The Berlin Marathon in Germany on September 25th, Loosely organized by Ralf, Don and Andreas.

San Francisco Nike Women's Marathon on October 16th. Organized by Mark. Mark made two New York and last year’s Chicago trips possible - Sure to be a good time. If you want to run, you must enter the drawing by April 22!

What a day! Huge congrats to all the competitors while it was “warm”, the sun stayed behind clouds for most of the 112 mile bike ride. You are a Ironman!

The TWRC Aid S3rd Place Aid Station!tation #6 went well thanks to captain Randy (18-hour-day) Bradley who volunteered to lead it months ago not knowing what he was getting into and all the volunteers (registered or not) that came out to help at the water station.  UPDATE 5-22, Aid Station #6 received 3rd place out of all the Bike and Run aid stations.  Way to go guys!

Post Sunday run pictures at Hubble & Hudson on Research 3-20-11

Strong turnout for the Sunday run. A few drop-ins and a new member made an appearance. While some started at 5:30 for 20, most ran 10 at 7 am. A bit warmer these days but nothing like it will be in a few months.

A good turn out for the Sunday run! While it was a cold morning (~32 F), it was warmer then the last four mornings!

Sunday Run from Hubbell & Hudson Kitchen (1-2-11)

We had a cool (35F) run at 7 am from Hubbell & Hudson Kitchen off Research. Most ran 10 miles but a few hardy soles started earlier and ran 14-22 miles... New location, new routes, a great way to start the new year!
