Welcome to The Woodlands Running Club
The Woodlands Running Club (TWRC) is a non-profit running club located in The Woodlands Texas, just North of Houston for runners of all abilities. If you are looking for track workouts, long runs, marathon training, 5Ks, fun runs & social events, trail running and running trips, you have found the right place.
TWRC promotes the running community in many ways, including hosting club runs, open social runs, races, and social events; engaging in community and charitable activities; and encouraging younger runners through our scholarship fund.
TWRC and the Ironman Water Station #6, Saturday May 19th 2012, East Shore, The Woodlands Texas
Water station #6 location - On the marathon course at the north end of East Shore. For a GPS or online maps, try 2500 High Timbers Drive, The Woodlands, TX, 77380. That address should take you to the south side of Ellipse Park. We will be on the north side of the park. If you use Bing maps, you can actually use the address 7500 North Bay Place, 77380 and it will show you exactly where our aid station will be. You cannot park on Majesty Row or North Bay Place as these roads will be closed off for the runners.
A couple of suggestions for our western theme:
Cowboy hats
Bandanas
Overalls
Cap guns/or water guns
Shift times:
Shift 1 is from 10:00 - 2:30 pm
Shift 2 is from 2:30 - 6:30 pm
Shirt 3 is from 6:30 - 11:45 pm

It will be hot, dress for the weather. Suggest you use sunscreen. There will be pizza and water for the volunteers.

IRONMAN TEXAS VOLUNTEER SIGNUP INFORMATION FOR TWRC MEMBERS
Okay everyone it is time again to sign up to volunteer at Run Aid Station #6 for the Ironman Texas event that takes place here in The Woodlands on Saturday May 19, 2012. Last year our water stop placed 3rd in the best aid station competition and this year we have a great theme planned that will be fun for the volunteers and runners alike. As a result of our volunteering last year the club received a donation of $1500.00 from Ironman that was put into our scholarship fund. This year if we can get more volunteers we should be able to hit that amount and possibly more.
London Marathon 2013 Trip Information
2013 London Marathon
For TWRC members interested in participating in the 2013 London Marathon, please be advised of an alternative method of possibly gaining entry into the marathon without relying on the lottery system utilized by the London Marathon. Tony Allison and Don Cole (both participants of the TWRC squad traveling to the 2011 Berlin Marathon) have been researching means for guaranteed entry into the 2013 London Marathon and hope to interest other TWRC club members into joining them in putting together a TWRC delegation for the 2013 London Marathon.

General Membership Meeting - Board Election for 2012-2013, Sunday March 4, 6 PM Rico's Alden Bridge
Since the Woodlands Marathon is on a Saturday we have planned the first general membership meeting for the year and post marathon celebration on Sunday March 4. The meeting will be at Rico's located at 8000 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, beginning at 6:00 PM. This meeting will also serve as the election for the new officers for 2012 - 2013. The nominees for The Woodlands Running Club Board of Directors are:

Woodlands Marathon needs volunteers
The Woodlands Marathon is still needing many volunteers for the event scheduled for Saturday March 3. If you are not participating in any of the events, this would be a great volunteer opportunity.
